Description of courses:

We offer the standard MBCT course as well as the new Mindfulness (MBCT) for Life Course, developed by Oxford Mindfulness Centre. Both courses are suitable for the general public and run over 8 weeks.
Courses in Wimbledon (SW19 1LT) open to all.
Next course starts 3rd February, 2019, and runs each Sunday 10.30 -12.30 until 24th March and includes a Practice afternoon on 10th March to 4.00pm. Early bird fee available as well as a concession place.
Free Taster Sessions offered regularly, the next one is on 20th January 11.30-12.30am.
Refresher workshops and a regular follow-on group for course graduates.
Mindfulness Courses offered in the Workplace based on ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ by Mark Williams and Danny Penman.

What qualifications or training do you hold?

I completed a year-long Mindfulness Teacher Training Course at Oxford Mindfulness Centre and hold the Certificate of Competence to teach MBCT. I have additionally completed both teacher-training modules for Breathworks. My professional background is as a Chartered Occupational Health Physiotherapist, specialising in Stress Management.

If you teach MBCT, what professional mental health training do you hold?

On-going regular supervision and Continuing Professional Development.

How do you continually ensure your knowledge and skills are up-to-date?

Teaching at Oxford Mindfulness Centre where we keep up to date with developments, in addition to regular meetings with peers, supervision, workshops, master-classes, conferences, retreats and reading journals.

Do you adhere to appropriate professional and ethical boundaries and frameworks in your work as a mindfulness-based teacher?

I follow the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good Practice Guidelines and as a Chartered Physiotherapist I abide by the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics for HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
