What qualifications or training do you hold?
I was a Buddhist monk for six years. I've been involve in teaching meditation for 22 years. I have also completed a Counselling Skills Level 2 course.
If you teach MBCT, what professional mental health training do you hold?
How do you continually ensure your knowledge and skills are up-to-date?
Reading. I have an internet search set up that emails me an email with links to the latest web pages published with information on mindfulness and MBCT Meeting with other mindfulness teachers Attending training courses. Maintaining a daily practice and being curious about how to keep this fresh. Over the last three years I've taught meditation classes in London and now have two classes on Monday evening. I choose a theme for each week based on what I am reading. Last year I went through the 8 week MBCT course with the group drawing on Mark Williams book 'Mindfulness'. Using this and several other sources I created handouts for each week and have recorded videos for the meditations from each week which I've uploaded onto you Tube. I have also drawn on A.C.T. through reading The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris.
